Château de la Barre is a privately owned, XIVth to XIXth century family château, located on a large estate with a river and pond.

The Château is set in the midst of the rolling hills of French untouched countryside.

 

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival by private jet at Tours or Blois le Breuil Airport

  • Private chauffeur transfer to Château de la Barre, home to the “De Vanssay” family, unbroken lineage, since 1404. Transfer either with the totally elegant large Daimler, chosen in the 70s by the Royal Family, or else a deluxe Mercedes van.
  • Retire in the prestigious Chambre Marin, a vast double room with a king size canopy bed, royal blue and gold Rubelli fabric, important XVIIth and XVIIIth century antiques and oil paintings, view over the garden and park.

 

Day 2 - VIP Chambord and Cheverny, Michelin Star Dinner

  • A drive out towards Cheverny Castle, the most magnificently furnished Loire Valley chateau, also famous for it’s stag-hunting.
  • A private VIP visit of the castle, covering the history of the XVIth century, to best understand the immensity of this architectural prowess.
  • A private visit at Château de Beauregard, which houses the largest portrait gallery in Europe of famous rulers from 1450 to 1650, painted in the early XVIIth century.
  • A welcome after hours by the owner, Count du Pavillon, for a private visit followed by dinner in his own apartments.

 

Day 3 - Visit to the famous Chenonceau Castle & da Vincis Home Amboise

  • Private VIP wine tasting in the Xth century caves of Vouvray cellars, discovering both the Chenin but also the famous Cabernet Franc wines of the Loire.
  • Visit of the Clos Lucé, home to Leonardo da Vincis home with 44 replicas of his major inventions.
  • Lunch at Michelin star restaurantLe Bon Laboureur” in Chenonceau.
  • Drive 5 minutes further to Chenonceau, a major Renaissance castle, the castle of the six Queens, built over the Cher river.
  • Diner back at the “Château de la Barre” or at the little gourmet bistro in the village at the end of the park.
