We start for the tour of the "Baixa" (lower city), the Dique do Tororó where, arranged in a circle around a central water jet, there are the statues of the gods of the candomblé, the Estádio da Fonte Nova, and the peninsula of Itapagipe where the first houses are not more than one hundred years old. It is a family neighbourhood, where life flows at a less frenetic rate than that of the upper city.
