Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu
Gather at Changi International Airport and board your flight to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province. Upon arrival at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, meet your local guide and transfer directly to the hotel. Take the rest of the day to unwind and settle in.

Day 2: Chengdu – Lhasa
Take a flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet, known as the "Roof of the World." Upon arrival at Lhasa Konggar Airport, meet your local guide and begin a 1.5-hour scenic drive to the city.
En route, stop to admire the Nie Tang Buddha, a striking statue carved into a mountainside, symbolizing peace and protection for travelers.
Upon reaching Lhasa, check in to your hotel and take the rest of the day to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude. Avoid strenuous activities and drink plenty of water to help with the adjustment.

Day 3: Lhasa
Start your exploration of Lhasa with a visit to the Potala Palace, the most iconic landmark of Tibet. This magnificent structure, perched atop Red Hill, was once the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas and a major center of Tibetan Buddhism. Take your time to explore its grand halls, chapels, and intricate murals that depict Tibetan history and religious traditions.
Next, head to Jokhang Monastery, the holiest site in Tibet and a place of deep spiritual significance. Built in the 7th century, this monastery is constantly filled with worshippers performing kora (pilgrimage circuits) and prostrations.
Conclude the day at Barkhor Street, the bustling heart of Lhasa. This ancient circular street surrounds Jokhang Monastery and serves as both a sacred pilgrimage route and a lively marketplace. Here, you can experience Tibetan culture firsthand, browse traditional handicrafts, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Tibetan daily life.

Day 4: Lhasa – Namtso – Lhasa
Embark on a scenic drive to Namtso Lake, one of Tibet’s three holy lakes and the highest saltwater lake in the world at an altitude of 4,718 meters. Spanning over 70 kilometers in length and 30 kilometers in width, the lake is famed for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, which beautifully reflect the snow-capped Nyainqêntanglha Mountains. The breathtaking landscape, dotted with nomadic tents and grazing yaks, offers a glimpse into the traditional Tibetan way of life.
After enjoying the tranquility of Namtso, travel back to Lhasa.

Day 5: Lhasa – Yamdroktso – Shigatse
After breakfast, begin your scenic journey towards Yamdrok Tso, one of Tibet's three most sacred lakes, located approximately 2 hours from Lhasa. Known for its turquoise blue waters and surrounded by snow-capped mountains, Yamdrok Tso is considered one of the four holy lakes of Tibet. Tibetans believe that the lake is the home of wrathful deities, adding spiritual significance to its stunning beauty.
Along the way, enjoy views of the Karola Glacier, a magnificent ice field that adds to the scenic grandeur of the region. Continue your drive towards Gyantse and visit the famous Kumbum Monastery. This stunning monastery, known for its large stupa and intricate Tibetan artwork, is one of the most important religious sites in the area.
After visiting the monastery, continue your journey to Shigatse, Tibet's second-largest city, where you'll check into your accommodation for the night.

Day 6: Shigatse – Mt. Everest – Tingri
After breakfast, begin your journey towards the Mt. Everest Natural Reserve, experiencing the dramatic changes in landscape as you travel from the southern to the northern slopes of Everest. Along the way, you'll pass through breathtaking views of Tibetan plateaus and rugged terrains.
Once you pass the border checkpoint, you’ll head to Everest Base Camp. This is the closest point to the world’s highest mountain, Mount Everest, known in Tibetan as Qomolangma, which means "the Third Goddess". Standing at an impressive 8,848 meters (29,029 feet), Everest dominates the landscape, offering stunning views of snow-covered peaks and towering glaciers.
Spend time taking in the awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur of the mountain before continuing your drive to Tingri, where you will rest for the night after this unforgettable day.

Day 7: Tingri – Zhangmu
Start your day early to witness the sunrise over Mount Everest. The sight of the sun’s first rays illuminating the snow-capped peak of the world’s highest mountain is a truly mesmerizing experience that will leave a lasting impression.
After breakfast, continue your journey towards Zhangmu, a customs town and port of entry located in Nyalam County, on the border between China and Nepal. The town sits at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level, and it is known for its mild and humid subtropical climate, a rare feature in Tibet.
Zhangmu, perched on the slopes above the Bhote Koshi River, offers picturesque views and an interesting cultural blend as it is located just across from the Nepalese town of Kodari. Here, you can explore the town and its unique surroundings before checking in for an overnight stay in Zhangmu.

Day 8: Zhangmu – Kathmandu
After breakfast, depart from Zhangmu and drive towards Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal. Along the way, you will be treated to stunning views of the southern slope of the Himalayas, with the majestic mountain range providing a breathtaking backdrop for your journey.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, your first stop will be the huge stupa of Buddha, also known as the Bodhanath Stupa. This massive structure is one of the largest stupas in Nepal and is a significant pilgrimage site for Buddhists. You can take some time to walk around the stupa and observe the monks, pilgrims, and visitors who come to pay their respects.
Next, head to the historical Durbar Square in the heart of Kathmandu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you will visit notable landmarks like Kumari Bahal (the residence of the living goddess) and Kasthamandap, an ancient wooden structure said to have been built from a single tree.

Day 9: Depart from Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will head out to explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning medieval architecture. Here, you'll visit key landmarks such as the 55-Window Palace, Batsala Temple, and Nyatapola Temple—the tallest pagoda in Nepal, renowned for its five tiers and stunning carvings.
After lunch, proceed to visit the Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple. Perched atop a hill, Swayambhunath is one of the oldest and most revered religious sites in the Kathmandu Valley. The stupa complex contains shrines, temples, and statues dating back to the Licchavi period, offering a glimpse into Nepal's rich spiritual heritage. From the top of the hill, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley.
Next, take some time to explore Thamel, the lively and bustling tourist hub of Kathmandu. It is filled with shops offering a variety of handicrafts, souvenirs, clothing, and other items unique to Nepal.
After your time in Thamel, enjoy a farewell dinner before heading to the airport. You will then catch your flight back to Singapore, concluding your memorable journey through the Himalayas and Nepal.
